WHITE MOUNTAIN KIKURIHIME

２００３年、石川県金沢市の中小企業会社から

白山イメージソングを依頼され制作。

白山比咩神社へ奉納。

白山（はくさん）は、石川県、福井県、岐阜県の3県にまたがる成層火山。

30万年から40万年前から火山活動を始め1659年（万治2年）の噴火が最も新しい。

富士山、立山とともに日本三名山（三霊山）のひとつ。

I produced the image song for the Hakusan mountain on request from a Ishikawa-based company in 2003. It was officially dedicated to the Hakusan shrine. The Hakusan mountain is a stratovolcano that stretches over three prefectures, Ishikawa, Fukui, and Gifu. It is supposed to have been active since 300000 ~ 400000 years ago, and its latest eruption occurred in 1659. It is reputed to be among the most famous Rei-zans (Spiritual Mountains), along with Fuji-san and Ritu-zan.

字義：「聞く、聞き入れる（女）」、「括る」

　　　　豊作を願う生贄として首をくくられたからククリヒメと呼ばれたという説も

容姿：─

家族：（秀真雅伝紀はつまつたえによると）子に伊邪那岐命いざなぎのみこと

日本書紀でのみ登場する女神で、古事記には登場しない。

一般的には北陸白山の神である白山比咩神の名で知られる。

また白山比咩神と同一視される事から白山菊理姫とも呼ばれる。

しかしこの女神とどの様な経路で同一視されたのかは不明である。

「聞く・聞き入れる」が語源である事から神霊の言葉を聞く巫女の力を司る女神である。

愛と縁結びの女神、死に関わる女神であるとも言われる。

１６弁の菊の花を後光に持つ。

伊邪那岐命が伊邪那美命いざなみのみことを追って黄泉国へ行き、変わり果てた伊邪那美命の姿を

見て逃げ帰った為、泉津平良坂よつひらさかで口論になった。

この時菊理媛神が現れ、双方に助言して調停した。助言の内容等は不明である。

Meaning: Kiku= to listen, to bind together in Japanese
Familial Relations: (According to Hatsuma-Tsutae,) Izanagi-no-Mikoto is her son. A goddess that appears only in Nihon-Shoki, not in Kojiki. It is commonly known as Shirayama-Hime-no-kami, the goddess of hakusan Mountain in Japanese Hokuriku district. The association makes it common to refer to her as Shirayama-Kikurihime, a practice which has as yet been explained definitely. As the name comes originally from the Japanese verb Kiku (to listen to ), it is supposed to be the goddess governing the power of traditional spiritual media Mikos. It is also known as the goddess of love, who is believed to give spiritual bonds to people. It has the 16-petal chrysanthemum behind its back as an aureole. When the legendary god Izanagi-no-Mikoto went to Yomi-no-Kuni, the land of the dead, to pursue his wife, he found his wife Izanami-no-mikoto had completely changed her appearances. Thereupon he fled, which caused a bitter argument in Yotsuhira-Saka. It was Kikuri-hime that appeared at this time and helped mediate the row between them. It is not known how she managed to mediate between the two arguing gods.
